Heather Felted Purse

 

Beginning at a young age, Deb’s interest in fiber began with sewing and knitting. When she learned to weave in the 1970’s it seemed like a natural progression into the world of fiber.

She still sews, knits (mostly hats) and weaves, but has gone one step farther into felting.

Needle-felted pins are an outgrowth of this embellishment process. She has created a number of felted pins and uses beads to dress them up.

Beading is also one of Deb’s interests. She creates earrings and necklaces, sometimes using her husbands’ hand-made beads. She also works with Greg to design fused glass pendants and earrings. (See Greg's page on this site.)

Knitted Hat

 

Deb weaves wool fabric, constructs the fabric into purses and felts them in the washing machine. She then adds some type of embellishment such as beads or needle-felted decoration.
